Big Band & Jazz Ensemble

The Wayne Valley Jazz Program dedicates one day a week for rehearsal to study and perform a variety of literature that spans the many eras and genres of jazz. Each year, these groups perform at concerts, adjudicated festivals, and various civic occasions. Special emphasis is placed on developing improvisation skills and ensemble playing. These ensembles rehearses 1-2 days a week, including sectional rehearsals.

Jazz auditions take place each year in mid-November and rehearsals typically begin in mid-December.
