SDA

For over 65 years, SDA has given students at Wayne Valley an opportunity to be part of a team and learn aerobics, pom, tap, and jazz dances. Anyone is welcome to join and be a part of this tradition. Whether you are on the blue or white team, SDA requires dedication and physical, mental, and emotional effort. The program emphasizes sportsmanship, cooperation, commitment, and school spirit. It is a tradition that Wayne Valley is very proud to uphold.

The organization is split into two teams: the white team and the blue team. There are four dances for each team (pom, tap, jazz, and aerobics) and each dance is led by two captains. Each team is also led by a senior girl, known as the overall. Each year, the season starts with captain and overall tryouts. Registration for dances are in the early spring and practices begin a few weeks later in February. The season concludes with three shows, in which an overall winner is chosen.

All Wayne Valley students are placed on the blue or white team in their freshman year. Team placements will not be changed for any reason. The only exception is any freshman having a parent, sister, or brother who was an ACTIVE PARTICIPANT (this does not include extras, Senior Dance, or prop crew) in GAA, SAA, or SDA.
