WVHS Counseling Department Staff

Our Mission Statement

The mission of Wayne Valley High School’s counseling department is to guide our diverse student body academically, personally, and vocationally in order to succeed in high school and to prepare them for the challenges of life after graduation. Our counseling services are utilized through individual sessions, group sessions, and classroom counseling lessons, discussing topics such as academic success, mental health awareness, and career/college readiness. The counselors work diligently with administration, staff, parents, and district members to meet the varying needs of students in order to assure a positive well-being.

The school counseling department’s goal aligns with that of WVHS to provide a safe and welcoming environment where all students feel comfortable. With our mental health initiative, we aim to take a preventative approach in raising awareness and providing coping skills to combat the stressors that may come with adolescence and high school. With a favorable counselor to student ratio, counselors are able to form a strong rapport with the students over the course of four years. We work with the students to create a personalized academic plan that aligns with graduation requirements and student’s interest of electives. Additionally, we deliver individualized college and career planning, working directly with students to find potential college majors and/or career paths. The school counselors at Wayne Valley High School are committed to providing equal opportunities for all students to reach their highest potential.
