Dr. Mark Toback comes to Wayne after almost four years as Superintendent of the Hoboken school district and five years as Chief School Administrator at Sussex County Technical School in Sparta. He also has held various administrative posts within the Leonia school district: vice-principal at the high school, principal of the middle school, and business administrator. In addition, he was both a principal and vice-principal within the Haledon district. He began his career as a math teacher.

Dr. Toback holds a Doctoral degree from Rutgers University and a Master's degree from William Paterson University. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware. 

Dr. Toback's leadership through the years has enabled him to develop a variety of successful initiatives, including enhancement of classroom technology, creation of unique partnerships with post-secondary institutions, and improving standardized test scores.

Mrs. Donna Reichman has served in the Wayne Township Public Schools for the past 13 years in a number of capacities. Prior to her appointment as the Assistant Superintendent, Mrs. Reichman served as the district’s Director of Elementary Education, Principal, Assistant Principal and Teacher. She brings a wealth of expertise to the position from her work in Wayne, and as a result of her work with other school districts where she advises on various projects such as curriculum reform, technology use in the classroom, and professional development. She has taken a leadership role with framing our vision for the Wayne Township Learning Center, the hub of teacher training. Ms. Reichman has a passion for shaping the teaching and learning process in Wayne, and strives to be an inspiration for our talented and ambitious administrative leaders.

Mrs. Reichman received a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Economics from Rutgers University, a Master’s Degree in Education from Kean University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Caldwell College.

Ms. Auerbach has worked in the Wayne Township Public School District for over 17 years. During her tenure in Wayne, she has served as elementary school principal, middle school assistant principal, math supervisor, and high school math teacher. She has actively participated in a number of district committees and was instrumental in the writing and implementation of math and science curricula at all grade levels. Ms. Auerbach is a teacher at heart, and she has provided a variety of professional development opportunities to teachers in Wayne and in other districts. Prior to her career in education, Ms. Auerbach worked as a Logistics Manager.

Ms. Auerbach earned a B.A. in Mathematics from The College of New Jersey and a M.S. in Educational Technology from Ramapo College. She enjoys working collaboratively and helping others reach their fullest potential. Ms. Auerbach strives to provide exciting and meaningful learning opportunities for all elementary students in the district.

Mr. Burkholder joined the Wayne Township Public Schools in 2015 after fifteen years of service as a Teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal with the Plainfield Public Schools. Prior to moving to central office in 2018, Mr. Burkholder was the Principal at Randall Carter Elementary School for the past three years. As part of his responsibilities as the Assistant Director of Student Support Services, Mr. Burkholder oversees all Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) investigations and currently supports our school counselors in implementing the No Place for Hate initiative annually in all Wayne schools. He serves as the District's Homeless Liaison, DCCP Liaison, District Testing Coordinator, Residency Coordinator, and as the District’s Affirmative Action Officer. Mr. Burkholder is also responsible for mandatory staff training through the Safe Schools program. As coordinator of federal and state grants, Mr. Burkholder works with district administrators to interpret student instructional data, evaluate student socio-emotional needs, and to assess professional development needs for WTPS staff in order to support our Title I school initiatives, design and implement programming for ELL students, and to plan professional development opportunities for our staff. Mr. Burkholder has a strong conviction that by providing effective instruction and ensuring proper support, students of all backgrounds and abilities can and will succeed. <br><br> Mr. Burkholder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical, Health, and Adapted Education from West Virginia University and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton. Mr Burkholder has also attended a number of educational post-graduate programs on school leadership and intervention programming, most recently completing the School Turnaround Leaders program at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in 2015. Mr. Burkholder was awarded a citation by the New Jersey Legislature in 2015 as a result of being recognized by the NAACP as a “Freedom Fund Award Winner” for educational commitment and community service.

Director of Human Resources, Compliance, and Labor Relations

Ms. Clark joined the Wayne Township Public Schools in 2015. She assumed her current role in September, 2018. Ms. Clark oversees all aspects of the employee hiring process from posting of positions to interviews and Board of Education (BOE) approval. Ms. Clark is responsible for new employee orientation, responds to employees' Human Resources questions, oversees appropriate certification, tenure accrual, preparation and approval of job descriptions, BOE agenda preparation, and assists with employee evaluation and management. She is also responsible for policy training, analysis and revisions and internal employment and other investigations. Ms. Clark acts as Chief Negotiator on behalf of the Board for all of the District's bargaining units, helps respond to union grievances and assists in reaching settlement. Ms. Clark has previous experience as in-house Labor and Employment Counsel and with law firms representing Boards of Education.

Ms. Clark holds a B.A. from Fairfield University, an M.B.A. from Fordham University, and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. Before becoming an attorney, Paula enjoyed a career in banking at a major New York City financial institution.

Sheryl Leidig joined the Wayne Township Public School District in July 2020. Prior to Wayne, she worked as a Manager at a CPA firm which specialized in school board and municipal accounting for over 15 years.

Mrs. Leidig earned her Master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Bachelor’s degree from Bryant University. She is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Public School Accountant in the State of New Jersey.

Mrs. Tracy Leigh brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this new role, having dedicated over two decades to integrating technology and teaching others how to implement technology into classroom lessons. Throughout her career, Mrs. Leigh has taught various grade levels, including Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 4th Grade, and 6th Grade, consistently incorporating technology to enhance the learning experience of her students. Her passion for technology in education led her to transition into teaching adult learners as an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University. She has also been an independent technology consultant, working with several private and public school districts in New Jersey.

For the past ten years, Mrs. Leigh has been an integral part of the Wayne Township Public Schools as a Teacher/Coordinator of Educational Technology Integration. Her commitment to enhancing educational practices through technology integration and promoting professional development through the Wayne Township Learning Center has been widely recognized and celebrated within the district.

Mrs. Leigh earned her M.A. in Education and B.S. in Elementary Education and Psychology from Seton Hall University. She earned her NJ Supervisor and Principal certifications from the Foundation for Educational Administration (FEA) through their NJEXCEL (New Jersey EXpedited Certification for Educational Leadership) Program.

After ten years serving the Wayne School District, Matthew Mignanelli has accepted the position as the Director of Secondary Education. In this capacity, he will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of research-based curricula, a strategic system of assessment, and culturally responsive practices and interventions.

Mr. Mignanelli has successfully maintained a myriad roles within the Wayne School District. He first joined the district as a social studies and psychology teacher at Wayne Valley High School, where he also served as the advisor to the National Honor Society. He moved into administration as assistant principal of Schuyler-Colfax Middle School, then subsequently took the reins as principal of the school in 2015. Throughout this tenure with the district, Mr. Mignanelli has been at the forefront of introducing innovative and engaging programming, including the implementation of a STEM program, a television studio, and an outdoor learning space at Schuyler Colfax.

In 2015, Mr. Mignanelli was inducted into the Notre Dame Excellence in Education program for his accomplishments as a classroom teacher. As an administrator, he was featured in New Jersey Magazine as a “game changer” as a building leader. Mr. Mignanelli holds a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership. He looks forward to working collaboratively with administrators at the secondary level to continue building dynamic programming, and focusing on how to best support the students of Wayne and ensure they receive an engaging and meaningful educational experience.

Bill Moffitt began with Wayne Township Public Schools in November 2018. He has been in the educational administration field since April 1998 and his service includes various units of the New Jersey Department of Education including time with the Division of Finance in Trenton, Abbott Implementation Group, and Passaic County Office. He moved to managing business operations in 2003 working in Paterson, Elmwood Park, and Hoboken school districts. In addition, Bill has eight years experience in the finance industry.

Mr. Moffitt earned his Master’s degree from New York University and Bachelor’s degree from William Paterson University. He holds both School Business Administrator and Qualified Purchasing Agent certificates.

Mrs. Montana has worked within the Wayne Township Public Schools as a school counselor for the past nine years, proudly spending the majority of those years as a counselor at Wayne Valley High School. Prior to starting her career in education, she worked as a patient care technician/mental health assistant in the emergency room setting. Mrs. Montana was proud to be recognized as the Governor's Education Specialist of the Year at Wayne Valley in 2023, and she is excited to continue working with district staff and administrators in this role to meet the needs of all students.

Mrs. Montana earned a B.S. in Psychology from Montclair State University, and additionally earned an M.A. in School Counseling from Seton Hall University. She also earned an M.A. in Educational Leadership degree and Principal certification from Montclair State University.

Peter Romain is a Buildings and Grounds professional with over 40 years’ experience in Facilities Management throughout the tristate area. Beginning his career as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds in New Jersey public schools for 15 years, he later moved on to New York University where his exemplary leadership was rewarded for excellence in Building Management, earning his facility the Building Owners & Managers Association Outstanding Building of the Year Award (TOBY). In his subsequent role at Marymount Manhattan College, he led multiple major capital construction projects in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and was commended by university President, Judson R. Shaver, for his hard work and dedication during Hurricane Sandy.

Mr. Romain holds a New Jersey Certified Educational Facilities Manager Certificate and a BOMA Facilities Manager Certificate.

Mrs. Sikorski has 17 years’ experience in the Wayne Public School Transportation Department. She is well versed in all elements of student transportation and will continue our mission of providing safe and efficient transportation to our Wayne students. Sue is a highly dedicated professional with deep ties to the district outside of transportation. She will continue to lead while maintaining all the department regulations, district policies, and New Jersey Department of Transportation compliance requirements. With a long history of customer service excellence, Mrs. Sikorski strives to continue the safe, dependable transportation that our parents have come to expect and deserve.

For over the past twenty years, Dr. Dana Sir has pursued different career paths in special education. She began her career as a special education teacher for the Norwood Public School District. Following her teacher experience, she served as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant for the Pascack Valley Regional High School District. She eventually returned to the Norwood Public School District to serve as a member of their administrative team as Director of Special Services before coming to Wayne Township Public Schools.

Dr. Sir holds Doctoral and Education Specialist degrees from Seton Hall University and a Master’s degree from William Paterson University. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Skibitski is a forty year plus veteran of the transportation industry with over twenty years of dedicated service to Wayne Township Public Schools. He is committed to our mission of providing safe and efficient transportation to the Township’s student population and to continual improvement of student transportation safety. Rich has heavy mechanical, managerial and customer service background experience and continues to bring a unique perspective on what it takes to deliver transportation services. His goal is to provide strong leadership to the department and continue moving forward in its unending mission of excellence and dependability.

Mr. Skibitski is a Rutgers University Certified Transportation Supervisor, Adjunct instructor in the Rutgers University Transportation Supervisor’s Certificate program, Certified Equipment Manager AEMP (Association of Professional Equipment Managers), ASE Certified Master School Bus Technician, and ASE School Bus Test Series Subject Matter expert. Rich also received the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Award for outstanding dedication to the industry and was a member of the NJ State Delegation to the National Congress on Student Transportation 2010 and 2015.

Lauren Tibbetts joined Wayne Township Public Schools in January 2022. Mrs. Tibbetts commenced her career in 1998 at Columbia University, transitioning into Manhattan’s private sector, then continuing onto the New Jersey State Higher Educational system, working at both William Paterson University and Ramapo College of New Jersey. Mrs. Tibbetts is enthusiastic in her collaboration with the Wayne Township Public Schools team in partnership with the Wayne community supporting the advancement and cultivation of Wayne Public Schools system.

Mrs. Tibbetts holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University, is pursuing her MBA at William Paterson University and has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from The City College of New York.

Mrs. Jennifer Varano has implemented and coordinated special education programs for students aged three to 21 years old throughout her career in education. She has worked in the Wayne Township Public School District for seven years as a Transition Teacher, Teacher Coordinator, and Assistant Principal of Student Support Services prior to her current role as Assistant Director. During her time in Wayne, the Student Support Services Department has experienced great change and advancement, much of which Mrs. Varano has been intimately involved with, including such initiatives as the expansion of the Transition Skills Program, growth of the Secondary Options Academic Recovery (SOAR 2.0) Program, and the establishment of Unified Sports. Prior to coming to Wayne, Mrs. Varano was a Special Education teacher in the Paterson School District for 12 years. She was also an independent contractor providing Early Intervention Services as a Direct Instructor to children aged birth to three years old.

Mrs. Varano received a Bachelor’s Degree in Teacher of the Handicapped from Kean University, a Master’s Degree in Reading and Reading Specialist Certificate from William Paterson University.

It is Mrs. Varano’s belief that in order to be an effective leader, all people involved need to know that they play an important role and should be made to feel comfortable working with the broader group in order to reach a collective goal. Collaboration and articulation with key stakeholders is important when identifying areas of needed improvement and developing a systematic plan to move forward.
