The Director of Middle Schools oversees, assists and coordinates the efforts of the middle school building principals, assistant principals, and guidance. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Identifying materials and program needs at each middle school
- Overseeing, developing, evaluating and supervising professional staff
- Planning, executing and evaluating curriculum modifications
- Observing of teaching and guidance staff that are due for tenure
- Serving as the district coordinator for HSPA and GEPA testing
Additionally, the Director of Middle Schools assists with the preparation of the educational budget for middle schools, monitors Federal and State grant and title funding, coordinates the Scholarship and Honors Board and works with the PTO Council and the Community Programs Office.
