The Director of High Schools oversees, assists and coordinates the efforts of the high school building principals, department chairpersons, supervisors of guidance and athletic directors. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Identifying materials and program needs at each high school
- Overseeing, developing, evaluating and supervising professional staff
- Planning, executing and evaluating curriculum modifications
- Coordinating athletic and co-curricular secondary programs
- Observing of teaching and guidance staff that are due for tenure
- Serving as the district coordinator for HSPA and GEPA testing
Additionally, the Director of High Schools assists with the preparation of the educational budget for secondary schools, monitors Federal and State grant and title funding, coordinates the Scholarship and Honors Board and works with the PTO Council and the Community Programs Office.
