Use of Facilities Policy Update

The Board of Education’s April policy addressing fees associated with the use of school facilities always included a clause calling for negotiation with the town’s larger user groups. It was the board’s intent from the beginning to explore mutually beneficial and creative partnerships with frequent, community-based users of school facilities that could help us meet our budget and facility needs, while also supporting Wayne Township's boys and girls. The board of education will only move forward with the policy, as it relates to large user groups, once it has had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with these groups. We appreciate and value the contribution of our community partners to our township's young people. Click here to download additional information and FAQ.

District Website to Get a Fresh, New Look

Phase 1 of our district website redesign will launch in early June. In addition to a fresh, new look and improved navigation, its features will include a robust district calendar and the ability to translate the site into eight languages.  Initially, content will link to our current website as we migrate information. In the future, you will find expanded communications as we update the site with much more about our curriculum, activities and organization. The new website will also effectively consolidate the current Board Perspective website and provide all board-related communication within the district site.

Extended Memorial Day Weekend

Each year emergency snow days are built into the school calendar for use when bad weather forces a school cancellation. As a result of our unusually mild winter we did not use all of those days; therefore, three unused emergency days will be added to the Memorial Day Weekend as long as we do not need them for some other type of emergency before then. As indicated on the school calendar, the district will now be closed on the following additional days: Thursday, May 24th, Friday, May 25th, and Tuesday, May 29th. Schools will reopen after the Memorial Day weekend on Wednesday, May 30th.
